Opera in the Ozarks – Eureka Springs

19th Annual Butterfly Count – Mena
Right about peak butterfly season, Queen Wilhelmina State Park holds a butterfly count. If you would like to participate in the annual butterfly count, here is your chance. Each summer people of all ages and walks of life join the count to create an annual snapshot of the distribution and abundance of butterflies. The results of the count are published in “Butterfly World” which is a journal enjoyed by butterfly lovers around the globe. All ages and levels of expertise are welcome. We will spend the entire day hiking and counting butterflies. Your participation can make a difference. Butterfly enthusiast Bruce Ewing will also set up his display of caterpillars at the Wonder House.

Firefly Fling – Fayetteville
Enjoy the highly anticipated midsummer event that features nature and play activities for adults and children. The gardens will be filled with musicians and storytellers. After dark, families participate in glowing games and then gather on the lawn for glow-in-the-dark performances. Guests may bring blankets and picnics.

6th Annual Bentonville Ice Cream Festival

Movies in the Park “Captain America: The First Avenger”
Each Wednesday in June and July at sundown, families and friends can venture to the River Market for movies from action to comedy to animated. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, coolers, and even pets. No glass please. A limited number of food vendors are onsite. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian to enter the event.
