Crepes Paulette: Bringing France to NW Arkansas

Bentonville’s #1 ranked restaurant on TripAdvisor is Crepes Paulette. This food truck brings a bit of France to northwest Arkansas with crêpes of both the savory and sweet varieties. When you visit, expect to wait in line – but it will be worth it, I promise.

Crepe Paulettes in Bentonville

Frédéric and Paula Henry are the owners of Crepes Paulette. They moved back to northwest Arkansas from France in 2005 with their two small children to be near Paula’s family.  In 2009, they saw the changes coming in Bentonville with the pending arrival of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the burgeoning international community in the area due to Wal-Mart. They felt there would be a growing need for new and different dining options. Frédéric had managed restaurants in New York City (where they met) and had always been drawn to the hospitality industry. After testing the idea of opening a crêpe restaurant for a while, they decided to try the less-risky format of a food truck to check out the concept. Crepes Paulette opened in the spring of 2010.

With over 40 flavor combinations, it may be hard to choose a favorite. Best-sellers include the fresh strawberry crêpes (with chocolate ganache, Nutella or sugar and butter) and the Spicy Chicken, made with chicken, salsa and cheese on their signature gluten-free buckwheat crêpe.

They even have a crêpe for your four-legged friends. “Because of the open-air format of our food truck, we have always welcomed dogs. In fact, I feature them every week in our e-newsletter (available on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). It was only by happy accident that we discovered that most LOVE our buckwheat crepes, and after researching it a bit, I found out it also happens to be a very healthy treat for them.  It was only natural that we put it on the menu,” says Paula.

A few reviews on TripAdvisor:

My husband and I had traveled to Bentonville and stayed at a hotel just across the street from Crepes Paulette. We decided to try it out for breakfast before hitting the road. We are so glad we did!

It is a food truck with several tables nearby for seating. The owner mingled about and made sure everyone was being taken care of. He is from France and very charming. The crepes were fabulous. My husband had La Comple’te which had ham, cheese and egg. He added spinach which really topped it off. I had La Foster, a sweet crepe with bananas, sweet and salty caramel and cinnamon. It is without a doubt the best crepe I have ever had, maybe the best sweet ever.
We really liked Bentonville, and eating at Crepes Paulette again might just be reason enough for a return trip!

I have had crepes in Europe and all around the U.S. And these are the best! The sweet crepes are a great treat and the savory crepes are a great lunch. I have never had a bad one. Usually a long line on the weekends but well worth the wait.

Frédéric and Paula will add a new storefront location at 706 S. Main Street later this summer. When asked if they will ever expand beyond northwest Arkansas, Paula responds, “One restaurant at a time, but never say never!”
