The Big Buck Classic is a tradition that has been going for 30 years, bringing generations together from all across Arkansas for a weekend of celebrating a common theme, the love of the great outdoors. Pinnacle Mountain State Park is hosting a program for kids that will be every Friday. Through a variety of experiences, including hiking, crafting, nature programming, audiovisual presentations and more, kids will discover the basic principles of biology, ecology, and conservation. These programs are recommended for students 7-10 years old and will provide an assortment of educational classes as well as outdoor activities. Author Chris James will lead a free workshop at The Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas. This workshop is open to all. James, affiliated with numerous state organizations and a TEDx speaker, is a member of the Foreign Tongues poetry slam team who won second place in 2014’s Southern Fried Poetry Slam, the world’s second-largest poetry competition. An avid educator, James has taught hundreds of students in the State of Arkansas.

There is a cycling fundraiser for women’s and children’s services at St. Bernards in Jonesboro this weekend. Spin classes will be held every 45 minutes. Participants may sign up for one class or multiple classes. Each spin class will be 30 minutes and will be taught by a separate certified spin instructor, and the registration fee for each is $45.
