10 Must-Try Food Trucks in Central Arkansas

I have used this time over the past several months to really delve into the food truck scene in Central Arkansas. And what I have found is a growing list of businesses that are churning out some pretty fantastic food. Now, more than ever, is a perfect time to support these mobile eateries. With that said, here are my 10 Must-Try Food Trucks.

food trucks

The Southern Standard

This truck does an excellent job with its creative spins on the classics, and truth be told, I’m really looking forward to a return visit to check out even more of what they have to offer. The Southern Standard Burger, Spicy Szechuan Chicken, and Loaded Tater Tots are just a few of the eclectic offerings from a rotating menu.

food trucks

Jude’s Delight

Yes, Jude’s Delight serves up an amazing cheeseburger (The Mac Daddy), but Monique also makes some killer stuffed salmon with spinach dip, and her desserts, like the chocolate cake, are not to be missed. The birria quesadilla is also an item I hear rave reviews about.

food trucks

Filipino Munchies

I flat out love everything about Filipino Munchies, a truck that is quickly becoming my absolute favorite, thanks in large part to the lumpia, pancit (rice noodles with chicken and carrots), and the Huli Huli Chicken. They also get bonus points for the order-ahead link.

food trucks

Rock Bottom BBQ

So far, I can only vouch for two items from Rock Bottom BBQ–the cheeseburger and pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw–but they were both absolutely fantastic, especially that smokey pulled pork with creamy slaw. What am I saying? Actually, the burger was every bit as good! This truck is typically stationed in a parking lot near Pinnacle Mountain.

food trucks

Tacos El Gordo

Folks in North Little Rock (and beyond) will tell you about the wonders of Tacos El Gordo, the mobile taqueria parked on JFK Boulevard. All varieties of the tiny tacos are good, but I am especially fond of the pastor, a tender pork with crispy edges that is sliced straight from the rotating spit and loaded into tortillas.

food trucks

Cheesecake on Point

Do you love cheesecake? I mean, do you really love cheesecake? If so, go find the Cheesecake on Point food truck immediately. Matcha Norwood, the owner and baker, serves up a variety of cheesecake cupcakes and slices of cheesecake-on-a-stick. Try out the red velvet, peach, and strawberry shortcake.

KnightFire BBQ

Make your way to Searcy for some of the best barbeque in the state at KnightFire BBQ. The menu includes tender and fatty sliced brisket, smoked pork belly (pork candy), and brisket tacos. I also hear they make a mean cheeseburger. Looks like I’ve got some homework to do.

Morrison’s Fried Pies

You might be surprised to read this, but I have never been a huge fan of fried pies. That was until I stumbled upon Morrison’s in Hot Springs. They make what seems like a million different flavors. All are worth a try, but definitely put a priority on the chocolate, blackberry, peach, and chicken pot pie flavors. The thicker crust makes all the difference, but so too does a perfect fry job.

El Sur Street Food Co.

How does a tortilla stuffed with refried beans, fried plantains, pastor, pickled onion, crema, and avocado, sound? This decadent, handheld, Honduran delight known as the Baleada (Con Todo) has helped put El Sur Street Food Co. on the food truck map.

A Little Crêpesy

I am on Team Crêpe. Always have been and always will be. And A Little Crêpesy, the cutest, tiniest food truck you will ever come across, is churning out some tasty thin pancakes, including both sweet and savory options like The Caprese, The Nutella, and The Fruit Medley.
