As we are all staying home and life is a bit slower (unless, of course, you are homeschooling), it’s the perfect day to look back on our favorite stories from the past year and beyond.
Some of these stories go all the way back to 2014, and one has been read over 200,000 times. All of them are still relevant and continue to be read six years later.
It has been the year of food. And one day soon we will be able to try all of the restaurants again!
As the publisher of OnlyInArk.com, I read every story and appreciate them all. But a few left long-lasting impressions on me this year. Our story about Mastodons had me daydreaming of elephant-like creatures staring in my second-story office windows for weeks after it was published. And Amanda Farris gave me a whole new perspective on farm life and the importance of passing on agriculture to the next generation.
Amber Walker is the social media marketing coordinator for First Security Bank. She finds unique ways to share our stories on our social media channels. Amber has a love of history, nature and animals above all. Here are a few of her faves.
Amber and I work with Scott Brady in the Searcy marketing department, and we count on him to give us fresh perspectives on sports and outdoors.
Our 2,300 stories have been read over 7.8 million times since we started on April 21, 2014. We couldn’t have done it without the love and care our writers and editors have given to each of the stories. Stephanie Buckley, aka The Park Wife, does a fabulous job curating our stories from talented writers all over the state. She has been here from the beginning and still makes us look good every single day.
We appreciate our readers the most, and we hope you will continue to visit for at least six more years! We are often asked if there are any more Arkansas stories to tell. But we are just getting started telling the wonderful stories of our great state.
Please share your story ideas in the comments sections below or by messaging us on any of our social media sites: Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
