This weekend you can jam out with three legendary music acts or dish up a bowl full of children’s theatre. There are art shows sure to delight everyone’s taste and workshops about learning to live in the great outdoors.
No matter what style of art appeals to you, chances are there is something to please the eye during the South Arkansas Arts Center’s highly anticipated annual exhibition 2017 Membership Showcase. The members of SAAC fill the galleries with works created in assemblage, acrylic, charcoal, glasswork, graphite, oil, pastel, photography, sculpture, and watercolor. Every year the exhibition brings the talent of SAAC’s members to the forefront and allows them to display and sell their work in a non-competitive environment.

One day, a lovable wanderer – down on his luck, lonely and hungry – came upon a little house at the end of a long road. Though the house looked to be nearly as down on its luck as he, the traveler knocked on the door and called out, “Hello inside. Is anyone home? I’m a hungry traveler who wants food to feed his tummy.” A little woman peeked out a window. She smiled. She winked, then she opened her door. Delighted, the traveler stepped inside to discover a treasure even more previous than a pot of delicious soup. Earnest charm, playful imagination and heart-warming music are the key ingredients in this fresh, tasty, nourishing new play.
