Perfect Potluck Baked Beans

T

The first day of summer is fast approaching and the yearning to spend time with family and friends has come and gone. We aren’t yearning for the time anymore; we are taking the time to be physically present in each other’s lives. And we all know what that means. Food! These super-easy baked beans are perfect for any potluck, BBQ, or cookout and will be a crowd-pleaser.

Besides being able to feed a crowd, this recipe has a great balance of sweet and tangy flavors with the simple help of some canned beans. By adding cooked ground beef, it makes these baked beans even more filling. Check out some great tips below before you get started.

Tips

  • This recipe only takes about 45 minutes from start to finish but you can save some time by browning your ground beef ahead of time. If I am cooking ground beef for another recipe earlier in the week, I’ll brown up extra for this recipe.
  • This is the perfect recipe to whip up a day ahead. Mix according to recipe directions, cover and store in the refrigerator until ready to bake. Add additional bake time to compensate for being in the fridge.
  • You can make these baked beans in your crockpot after you brown your ground beef. Then just dump all ingredients in the crockpot and cook on low for 6 hours or until warmed through.
  • Don’t want to worry about bringing home a casserole dish from a gathering? No worries, grab an aluminum throw-away pan to bake these baked beans.
