Searcy’s Get Down Downtown

O

On the heels of winning Season 4 of The Small Business Revolution, Main Street Searcy is hosting their 12th Annual Get Down Downtown Festival in Downtown Searcy. The two-day festival has added new events and attractions this year, and features live music, vendors and family-friendly activities. Grab a lawn chair or quilt. It’s going to be a great event!

Sammy Kershaw

Headlining the festival is Nashville recording artist Sammy Kershaw performing on the First Security Bank Stage Saturday at 8 p.m. Kershaw is best known for his classic 1990s songs “Cadillac Style,” “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful,” and “Don’t Go Near The Water.”

Wilson Brothers Band

Special guests Wilson Brothers Band will perform at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th. The Nashville recording artists launched their self-titled debut record in 2018 and are known for their videos “It All Looks Good From Here” and “Loving You Loving On Me.” In August 2019, the brothers won Best Country Duo or Group at the Nashville Industry Music Awards.

Anna Brinker

Additional artists featured on Saturday include Anna Brinker, Sam Shupak, James Wells, Jason Coleman, Golden Rule, Jonathan Alexander, the White County Star Steppers. The Friday night lineup starts at 6 p.m. and includes The Pursuit, Dee Dee Jones and Broken Vessels.

Get Down Downtown Boogie Train

Activities throughout the weekend include the Boogie Train rides, mini-golf, pony rides, a petting zoo and carnival games and inflatables in the Unity Health Kids Zone. On Saturday, the Unity Health Stage in Spring Park will feature Studio 122, Mister Morphis, Jon Bucher “The Magic Guy,” and Taekwondo, cheer, dance and choir performances from local students.

Funnel Cake 5K

Main Street Searcy has added two new events to the festival this year – the Funnel Cake 5K and the Officer Will McGary Memorial Car Show. The Funnel Cake 5K will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 on the corner of Spring and Arch Streets. Everyone who finishes the 5K will receive a voucher for a free funnel cake at the festival. Registration is $35 until Sept. 27, and $40 the day of the run. There’s also the Cotton Candy Classic, a one-mile option that is $25/$30 and receives a cotton candy voucher. Click here to register or for more information.

The 7th Annual Officer Will McGary Memorial Car Show joined forces with Get Down Downtown this year and will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Spring Park. Registration is $20 and proceeds benefit the Will McGary Foundation.
