These fun Pepperoni Twists would also make great Halloween appetizers. Insert a sliced or slivered almond in the end before baking, and you have tasty witch’s fingers to dunk in marinara. Serve with Gummy Worm Punch and my easy Candy Apple Slices for a sweet & spooky Halloween BOO-ffet!
Thank you to Carly McCuan for this delicious recipe!
1 pound pizza dough
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup pepperoni
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Roll the dough out into a rectangle on a lightly floured cutting board. Combine the garlic powder, parsley, Parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Sprinkle half of the seasoning blend onto the dough. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on one-half of the dough and top with pepperoni. Fold the side of the dough without the pepperoni over to cover the filling. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut the dough into 12 strips. Twists the strips and press down on the ends to seal. Brush the twists with olive oil and sprinkle with half of the remaining seasoning blend. Place season side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with remaining olive oil and sprinkle the remaining seasoning blend. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until twists are golden brown. Serve with marinara or ranch dressing.
